We have had an enquiry from Dr Peter Scott-Gordon, a retired NHS doctor living in Bridge of Allan.

Peter writes;

 "As a pastime / hobby I make short, non-commercial films about places in Scotland. Generally my films feature an old building and I try and find archive material to remember the lives of former inhabitants. I do so just for the love of doing so. It is good to remember our forebears who may have been forgotten. I would like to make a wee film on Gorstan cottage. I have some photos of it. I believe that it was demolished in 2021. In newspaper archives I came across a Dora Bruce in 'Gorstan cottage, Garve' in the 1930s. I believe that she was a local nurse. Her father was a minister and her brother died in WWI. Do you know if this is the same tinned-roof cottage that I have photos of?
I also understand that a Mary Craig was the last resident of the cottage? Is this right? Do you know any of her story? Do you have any fond memories of her that you might be able to share. My website is called Hole Ousia - if you want to look up my creative work"

We have confirmed Peter has the correct information about the cottage being demolished,  and have his consent to pass on this enquiry to our community to ask for help with his film.
If anyone can help with memories / insights please contact Peter directly via this email address peter@holeousia.com
