Steps Towards Being More Resilient As A Community

Household Home Emergency Plan

It is important to remember that you are best placed to make decisions for your own household.
What will be most helpful will depend on who lives with you, where you are located, and your individual circumstances.
In rural areas like ours across Garve and District, severe weather can have a greater impact. Heavy snowfall can quickly cut off access to shops and services, roads may become impassable, and power or phone outages can last longer than in more urban areas. Some parts of the district are also vulnerable to flooding, meaning residents may need to be ready to leave their homes at short notice.
